OUTFIT | BACK TO OLDSCHOOL

Last sunday was all about the street style… I had the opportunity to be part of a shoot for a big international headphone company. The results will appear in a couple of weeks on my blog as well as in the printed editition of an austrian magazine. After the job was done female blogger Sonja Petrkowsky of Fashiontweed and i decided to do a little collaboration post for our blogs, in which we took it all the way back to the 90’s. Especially i kept it real with an oversized and hip hop influenced look and a new interpretation of my beloved leather jumpsuit from Callisti: comfortable from head to toe. I will give you a detailed insight on my new boots in an upcoming post.

OUTFIT | WHY IT’S STILL COOL TO WEAR A TIE

Go ahead and throw on a tie. That’s what i tell myself from time to time. Its not a big deal, but as we know the small things are the point when it comes to fashion. So whether you like to keep it classy, casual or business, here are some hard facts why it’s still cool to wear a tie:

A tie will get you a lot of complinents. It’s the first thing peoole notice when they see you: “Nice tie!” That’s what they always say. Their eyes can’t help but wander there. That makes a tie to the counterpart of a woman’s decolleté. It’s a secret weapon!

A tie is timeless and transformable and there is one for evey occasion. So even if your are not into dressing up like a banker or a lawyer, you can still integrate it into your daily wardrobe. Therefor just stick with a slim cool-guy-tie, just as i do. It also goes well with any kind of leather or bomber jacket.

Use the power of presenation that a tie posesses. It can upgrade your first impression, help you to control your image and even improve your relationships at the end of a day.

Last but not least… A tie looks sharp and wearing it let’s you practice overdressing. A great exercise to step out of your comfy zone from time to time. So courage yourself to be the best dressed man in the room. Your ego appreciates it!

SZIMON+ROSENTHAL

Yesterday i visited a little after Fashion Week event where some local designers presented their new pieces in a very private atmosphere. Especially the collection of austrian/hungarian designer Benjamin Quirico (2nd photo) has been on my radar after watching his fashion show some days ago, where he unveiled some avantgardistic and streetwear inspired pieces. His brand Szimon+Rosenthal was founded in 2012. But the creative mind, who in particular works with waste materials, wouldn’t claim himself a real designer. He sees fashion as another form of expressing himself. Just as much as it’s writing for the editor in chief and fashion director of Faux Fox Magazine.

Nevertheless the multi-talented Benjamin Quirico creates great pieces and let me fell in love with one of them: A cool skirt and trousers combination made of cotton and leather that is far from average. Reason enough to add it to my wishlist!

Special thanks to Martina Mueller from Callisti who knows my taste and always keeps on dressing me up.
